Strategic long-range drones as substitute for missiles - where does Bharat stand in the global standards?

Strategic long-range drones are increasingly being developed and utilized as cost-effective and flexible alternatives to traditional missile systems. These drones offer advantages in precision, adaptability, and reusability, making them valuable assets in modern military arsenals.

Advantages of Strategic Long-Range Drones over Missiles:

Cost-Effectiveness:

Drones are generally less expensive to produce and maintain compared to missiles, allowing for more extensive deployment without incurring prohibitive costs.

Precision and Flexibility:

Equipped with advanced navigation and targeting systems, drones can execute precise strikes and adapt to dynamic mission requirements, including real-time target assessment and mission abort capabilities.

Reusability:

Unlike missiles, certain drones can be recovered and redeployed, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.

Countries Developing Strategic Long-Range Drones:

United States:

The U.S. leads in drone technology, with platforms like the MQ-9 Reaper capable of extended-range missions. The Pentagon is also investing in long-range Ukrainian drones to enhance strike capabilities.

China:

China is rapidly advancing its drone capabilities, developing long-range systems to bolster its strategic military reach.

Ukraine:

In response to regional conflicts, Ukraine has developed drones capable of striking targets over 1,200 miles away, enhancing its long-range offensive capabilities.

Russia:

Russia has produced new long-range kamikaze drones, such as the Garpiya-A1, utilizing Chinese engines, indicating a focus on expanding its drone arsenal.

Iran:

Iran has developed missile and drone technologies as alternatives to traditional air force capabilities, aiming to project power beyond its borders.

The global proliferation of drone technology signifies a strategic shift in modern warfare, with over 90 countries and non-state actors operating drones. This widespread adoption underscores the importance of drones in contemporary military strategy and their potential to redefine traditional concepts of armed conflict.

Even Turkey has emerged as a prominent player in the global drone manufacturing landscape. Leveraging a mix of indigenous innovation, strategic investments, and practical combat experience, Turkey has positioned itself as a leading drone producer with significant influence in military conflicts worldwide.

I would like to end this discussion on why Bharat must cut the cobwebs of reservation policies for strategic companies like HAL and DRDO. It's hurting the national interests.

Apply reservation primarily to non-core, support, and administrative roles, while keeping core technical and R&D positions purely merit-based.

Wake up.... Bharat...

Kiss the TRUTH with an uncluttered mind and be a force to be reckoned with.
